    A Real Lightweight

"Flexible Neoprene Upper". This boot does sacrifice waterproofness in the upper; if a really-wateproof upper is what you need, well, Tingley (and others) have quite a few more-traditional *inflexible rubber upper* boots. The idea of this boot is 1) easy slip-on-&-off, and 2) a relatively thin profile -- which is nice, but would make for wickedly tough donning & doffing but for the fact that the upper is somewhat-elastic neoprene. Since the upper is so stretchy (relatively speaking), the manufacturer could afford to make it a "tighter cut" in the calf. That "tighter cut" [especially if you tuck your pants into the boots] leaves less room for (rain and) snow to fall into the boot. These badger boots re a horse of a different color; they march to the beat of their own drum, So, if you're happy with your old boots and are looking for a conservative upgrade, these might not be the best choice; these boots were designed with out-of-the-box thinking. Personally, I like them a lot. They are basically really realy tall "chelsea boots". I think it's a kick-ass design, and I'll be buying another pair, but I totally get Kern L.'s negative review; galoshes these sort of are not; measured as waterproof galoshes, I second his opinion that these fall flat. But if you want (maybe insulated, maybe safety-toe) grippy-soled almost-knee-high CHELSEA-BOOTS, well (as far as I've seen on my internet searches), those basically did not exist until the roll-out of ths badger-boot. In light of Kern L.'s…

Within the first day my feet were wet. Not from sweat because it’s the winter and my feet are usually warm, my reasoning for going with the non insulated version. Now after two weeks of wearing them I can’t even brush off my truck before my feet are wet and cold. I even put them on the boot drier as soon as I get home from work. I am probably going to go back to my three year old leather boots because my feet stayed drier for a longer time than these rubber boots. Extremely disappointed in the quality. Probably the worst 160 dollars I’ve ever spent on a pair of footwear. I had high hopes too.
